Depending on their security settings, users of Internet Explorer may see a message displaying at the top of the page when they first arrive at the site, saying something like "To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this webpage from running scripts or ActiveX controls that could access your computer. Click here for options... "
This may appear for three reasons. First, the text of each page is in a semi-transparent container which allows the G-clef and stave to display through it, on top of the white background. Second, on some pages we use javascript to display our contact details and email addresses in an effort to hide them from so-called "web spiders" and so both cut down on the amount of "spam" e-mail we receive, and prevent people’s telephone numbers from showing up on when their name is typed into a search engine. Third, there’s a little slide show on the Welcome and Gallery pages. Other browsers take the coding in their stride but for some reason Internet Explorer has problems with it. We believe you will be perfectly safe if you click on the bar and "Allow Blocked Content" but if you do not want to, all it should mean is that the page won't look to you quite as we intended it to, you won't see our contact details, and you will miss the slide shows. In that case, if you want to contact us, send your message to info at midlandfestivalchorus dot org and it should end up in the right place!
This site has been tested on current versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Safari (PC version), and Google Chrome and on different sized screens using Windows PCs. Subject to the "hiccups" with Internet Explorer which we have mentioned we believe it works on all of the above, but if it displays in any way "oddly" on your computer, please let us know, with details of the browser and operating system you are using and if possible, the screen resolution of your monitor so that we can try to fix the problem. It has not been optimised for display on older browsers or devices with small screens such as mobile phones and PDAs. If you have such a device and would like to be able to view the website on it, please contact the so that he knows there is a demand for a low-graphics version.
